'Where is my eldery neighbour?' MHA conference in London

13 November 2014

Mayor of Haringey - Cllr Kaushika Amin attended private viewing of Mum, Dementia & I on Tuesday evening at the Bernie Grant Art Centre in Tottenham. Guests felt that photographer Annemarie Anang, born and bred in Tottenham, brought such current national issues of dementia and social care, to a grassroot level by moving photographs which highlighted clearly what living with dementia is like for her mother and how our social care system could be improved. The exhibition runs until the 22nd November.

of the social care system and her photography

exhibition Mum, Dementia & I which is set to

tour in January 2015. Annemarie is convinced that more needs to be done to support people living with dementia and their families. "There was a general lack of care. I’d go over to see how mum was doing and I soon noticed the carers didn’t really seem to know what they were doing. Some of them hadn’t even been told mum had dementia." Click here to read the full article.
